Hummer H3T Concept
GM's Worst Kept Secret Makes its Debut
January 04, 2004
The LA autoshow is featuring one of the worst-kept secrets in the business...The "Hummer Concept H3 T"
GM looks to introduce a smaller Hummer...the H3.
We are guessing here...but the T stands for ?truck?. Note the cargo-access door in the side of the bed.
It?s not yet clear whether the production H3 will come in pickup and SUV versions.
Though based on the recently introduced Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon pickups, the H3 appears to be a truely capable Hummer.
The four-wheel-drive H3 T concept is powered by a version of the inline five that?s available in the Colorado/Canyon.
But in the Hummer concept the I-5 is turbocharged to 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.
Although the eventual production engine might not make that much power, a turbocharged inline five has long been in the works at GM Powertrain. The real production H3 isn?t likely to make it to dealer showrooms until early 2005.
